Kelly Boys
is certified hatha yoga and a certified iRest Yoga Nidra teacher, and is currently the Director of Operations for the Integrative Restoration Institute. She has taught iRest Yoga Nidra to US veterans, as well as to women in prisons, cancer survivors, and those with substance abuse addictions. She is currently teaching at the San Bruno jail for violent offenders who are veterans. Kelly began studying with Richard Miller, the founder of iRest, in 2007.

Yoga Nidra translates as as “yogic sleep” and iRest Yoga Nidra is a modern adaption of this ancient yogic meditation practice. Research has shown that iRest Yoga Nidra is highly effective in promoting deep relaxation; as well as supporting the healing process of anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain and P.T.S.D. iRest Yoga Nidra is taught as a guided meditation either lying down or seated comfortably.

Loriel Starr is a Level III Certified iRest ® Yoga Nidra teacher. She has taught iRest Yoga Nidra at a variety of locations throughout the Bay Area including; yoga studios, counseling centers, the San Francisco County Jail, the San Francisco VA, St. Vincent De Paul’s Wellness Center and CIIS.

Continuing Education Certificate Program on Spiritually Sensitive Practice,
Washington, DC.

January - May, 2012: The Center for Spirituality and Social Work (CSSW) announces its third Continuing Education Certificate Program. This unique 30 CEU certificate program is designed for practitioners who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in Spiritually Sensitive Practice.

This year's program will focus on complex issues that arise in the lives of clients as they struggle to deal with both inner conflicts and external circumstances. Ethical issues also arise within us as practitioners, as we attempt to meet the myriad challenges that emerge in providing ethical, effective, and culturally attuned services.

The Certificate Program requires participation in all three workshops and a clinical practice seminar series. This seminar series provides important time and space to process with colleagues the information gained from the workshops and to translate this into specific practice from a spiritual perspective. Only those seeking the full 30 CEU Certificate Program will attend the clinical practice seminars, which will be facilitated by Dr. Cathleen Gray, LICSW -­‐ former Director of the CSSW and master clinician.

Seminars will be held on five Fridays, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. (Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 23, Apr. 20, & May 4th). Total cost for the full CEU Certificate Program, including the three daylong workshops and five seminars, is $700.00. Sign up soon, as the certificate program will be limited to a small group of participants.
