Meditation doesn’t involve transcending your humanness. It entails recognizing and living from your essential nature, which is already and always unbounded, whole, loving, compassionate, awake, and perfect just as it is, in the midst of the circumstances of your life. True meditation enables you to recover and experience your innate sense of wellbeing, and supports you in welcoming and responding, rather than reacting, to every moment and situation of your life.
Monthly Meditations are designed to support you by:
- Fostering concentration, enabling you to recognize your innate nature of wellbeing;
- Nourishing proactive mindfulness and your capacity to be respond to each moment and situation of life; and
- Developing self-inquiry, which fosters curiosity and openness, dissolves separation and awakens your intrinsic capacity for being loving, kind, peaceful, joyful and discriminatively insightful.
Richard Miller, PhD is founding president of the Integrative Restoration Institute, and author of Yoga Nidra: A Meditative Practice for Deep Relaxation and Healing. *Please Support the Teachings in Moving Forward
Dana (Pali - generosity) reflects the interdependence between those who offer teachings and those who receive them and is a central pillar of spiritual life. And while teachings, which are considered priceless, are given freely, support from students is needed. In the act of giving we develop our ability to let go, cultivate the spirit of caring, and acknowledge our inter-connectedness. It is the practice of dana, where committed supporters give generously, that keeps the spiritual teachings moving from one generation to the next.

Richard Miller presents at the Yoga Therapy Summit (Rapid City, South Dakota)
The Yoga Therapy Summit is more about quality than quantity ~ about bringing together a small group of highly qualified teachers to present in-depth yoga therapy to serious students of yoga. In-depth study with a main teacher, shorter study with three other teachers of your choice, and panel discussions will guide you through a balanced and unified approach to yoga as a respected therapy.
Study the Open Secret of Yoga with Richard Miller, PhD, (Focus Session and Overview Session - descriptions below).
Yoga blossoms when we realize our innate nature as the ungraspable Mystery that underlies all of life. The end of suffering and upsurge of unshakable wellbeing occur when we embody this Mystery as our underlying essence that is untouched by disease, and is always whole, healthy and complete, as it is. While our core Essence is always present, it can remain unrealized when attention is absorbed in movements of body, mind, senses, world, and health-related issues.
