Monica Hanson, RYT, IAYT

Monica Hanson has a passion for supporting innovative movements in the art and science of meditation.

For the last 10 years Monica has focused on practicing, contemplating, studying, researching, writing and teaching mind body meditation. She is on the Board of Directors for the Integrative Restoration Institute and a founding member of the Integrative Wellness Team at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration dedicated to integrating iRest into the military. She is an instructor at Stanford University Center for Compassion and Altruism - Research and Education. Certified in the Therapeutic Application of Yoga through Duke University Integrative Medicine; and trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Her perspectives have been published in the International Association of Yoga Therapists annual peer reviewed journal.

Her mentors are Richard Miller, PhD, Jacquelyn Long, LCSW, a neuropsychologist from Princeton, and Kelly McGonigal, PhD, author, psychologist and mind body expert from Stanford University.

Monica is married and has a young son. She enjoys walking up hills, running down and the awe and mystery of expansive nature.
